Lania spent 7 years working at Jackson Memorial Hospital as a senior Physical Therapist prior to establishing Miami Physical Therapy Group in 2006. During her career, she has worked side by side with the top doctors and healthcare professionals in our community. Her clinical experience has always involved pre- and post- surgical patients, ranging from orthopedic conditions to post mastectomy. She is an advocate for clinical research and has participated in several studies with the University of Miami. She is also a guest lecturer at the University of Miami Department of Physical Therapy Graduate School.

 

Ms. Garcia is a physical therapist in the Miami area in which I plan to start my industry. She’s gone to UM which is a University that I am interested in. She has also worked at various places like Jackson Memorial Hospital in which I was born in. She would be a good person to reach out to help with business and relations.

Rene Luna PT

 

 

Rene has established and founded R&R Physical Therapy, Inc. in July of 2003 which recently became Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers of Tallahassee. He has been practicing PT since 1992. He began his career working in several rehabilitation settings as a travelling physical therapist in the Midwest, the Northeast and the Southeast part of the United States. He has worked with several patients of all ages in areas of orthopedic cases, sports injuries, balance and vestibular issues, musculoskeletal and neurological injuries and diseases.

Rene has taken specialized course works in the areas of manual therapy and geriatric rehabilitation. He has been using powerful approach in treating patients with great success. During his career, he has demonstrated the exceptional ability to solve many musculoskeletal & neurological symptoms with his specialized approach and comprehensive and evidence-based rehabilitative techniques

Rene Luna is currently my mentor at the physical therapy clinic that I am interning at. He is a man full of wisdom and knowledge. By working under him, I’ve gained a new insight in life and in my vision as physical therapist. I have and will continue to learn many things from Rene Luna.

Thomas M. Larson

 

Thomas M. Larson, MPT, Crossfit Level 1 Trainer, CSCS, FMS, has been practicing physical therapy since graduating in 2000.He has participated in organized sports to include baseball, basketball, football, track and field, amateur body building, a ½ marathon, a sprint triathlon, and several 5k runs.   His outdoor activities include crossing the Grand Canyon in a single day, hiking in Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park, Zion National Park, the Appalachian Trail, snow skiing, and rafting the Ocoee River.  He enjoys weight lifting, performing his own version of P90X affectionately known as T90X, and running. Miraculously, he does not currently have any pain.  He is the designer and inventor of the BASEx system for lumbar stabilization and improving lumbosacral control. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and from the University of St. Augustine with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.  He has been personally chosen by the team physicians to treat professionals from the NFL, MLB, and PGA, as well as college and high school athletes. His philosophy is simple; fundamentals are essential. Mr. Larson owns his clinic called BASE PHYSICAL THERAPY which is an outpatient rehabilitation clinic specializing in orthopedic, spine, occupational, neurological and sports injury care.

 

Mr. Larson is a very interesting person to me. He is an inventor and designer, he is the inventor BASEx system. I find this very useful for physical therapy. I plan to develop my own systems in the future so learning about his newly invented system may benefit me.

Kent Knisley, DPT, PT, ATC

Since 1988, Tallahassee Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy (TOSPT) has provided outpatient physical therapy services to the Big Bend area.  TOSPT is locally owned and operated by Kent Knisley a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer, who has many years of experience in High School, College and Professional sports. From a small physical therapy practice, TOSPT has grown into a comprehensive rehabilitation company specializing in the treatment of orthopedic, sports, hand, and industrial injuries, and providing the utmost services to the Tallahassee community for 27 years

Kent has served as the CEO and Administrator since starting the business in 1988. Kent’s experience in athletics includes Assistant Athletic Trainer at Manatee Community College; Head Athletic Trainer for the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league baseball organization; part time Athletic Trainer, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Head Athletic Trainer, Valdosta State College; Head Basketball and Spring Sports Athletic Trainer, Florida State University.

Kent’s experience in Outpatient Physical Therapy began in 1988 and he is still actively involved in patient treatment. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Physical Therapy Association

I used to volunteer and shadow at the TOSPT clinic that Mr. Kent is a CEO at. With previous experience out there, I can reach out to the his clinic and establish relations with them.
